🌻 What's your ONE goal?

Hey Reader, In my recent video about sticking to healthy habits, I talked about two game-changing tips: 1. Focus on just ONE goal (not ten!) 2. Start with one small action step (ridiculously small counts!) These two things alone can make the difference between quitting by February (most new year's resolutions don't last beyond February) and actually making progress. So I wanna know...What's YOUR one goal right now? And what's one small action step you could take this week toward it? Hit reply...

I thought I could just do it on my own...easy peasy. I recently stopped working out with my personal trainer (not because she's not awesome 'cause she is) but our schedules just couldn't jive anymore. So, I figured, I have weights at home, I can just work out on my own, no problemo! I had all the best intentions of doing my full strength training sessions 2 to 3 times a week for an hour. I had a couple of dumbbells, a dedicated workout space and told myself, “This time, I’ll stay consistent.”...

I was making it way more complicated that it needed to be... I kept telling myself I needed to strength train 3-4 hours every week. I mean I'm post menopause and we all know that strength training is super important to maintaining strong muscles and bones. So, I'd block out these big chunks of time, plan one hour strength training sessions... and then life would get in the way. Work calls, family stuff, you know how it goes...or I'd just get tired, lazy and unmotivated to work out for an hour...

Hey Reader, This is why I know my process works: "I must say the mental relief you gave me with the 'just do 5 minutes if that's all you can manage' ...was a brilliant incentive. I tried to do something and more. I still found excuses to avoid working out, but at least I have done some moves every week since." This message from a coaching client is exactly why I do what I do!! I get super excited when a client tells me they're moving more and feeling better - honestly, it's why I do what I...

Hey Reader, I sometimes get asked, "Can yoga really fix my knee pain?" The answer is a resounding YES, yoga can definitely help to relieve knee pain. Yoga may not make your knee pain totally go away on its own (although in some cases it can), but yoga can help a lot! I had knee pain for years until I stopped ignoring it, and focused on both strengthening and stretching the muscles supporting my knees. And now I have almost zero knee pain! But, there are some dos and don'ts. If you have joint...

HeyReader, I got an email this week from a yoga colleague who recently had abdominal surgery. While it's not always an easy road to recovery from any surgery, she shared how much of a difference having a regular yoga practice has made to her recovery. Her email got me thinking about the power of yoga to help in the healing and recovery process, which many of us may find ourselves in at some point (if we haven't been there already). Here's part of what she shared: "I’m endlessly grateful for...

Hi Reader, I have a confession to make... I've been on holiday in Europe for the last three weeks and have done almost no yoga! I mean - I've done one or two minutes here and there but really not much. This morning I decided to do some yoga in my hotel room as I've been feeling super stiff. I did 15 minutes of yoga, and my body did not feel great! I felt like the Tin Man! 😳 I started to kick myself for not being more disciplined about doing more yoga throughout my vacation but then I stopped...

Hi Reader, Sharing a bit about me today... I spent over 30 years in the corporate world. Then, I became a certified yoga teacher and wellness coach in my 50s leaving the corporate world behind. First I became a yoga teacher over 10 years ago and later a wellness coach. Becoming a yoga teacher has been a deeply personal and transformative journey for me, shaped by three significant aspects of my life: my mother’s battle with cancer my own struggles with knee and other joint pain after years of...
