Hi Reader,β I have a confession to make... I've been on holiday in Europe for the last three weeks and have done almost no yoga! I mean - I've done one or two minutes here and there but really not much. β This morning I decided to do some yoga in my hotel room as I've been feeling super stiff. I did 15 minutes of yoga, and my body did not feel great! I felt like the Tin Man! π³ I started to kick myself for not being more disciplined about doing more yoga throughout my vacation but then I stopped and asked myself what can I learn from this? β I reminded myself that how I was feeling was probably similar to how it feels to do yoga as a beginner or for the first time. If you haven't done yoga or any stretching in a while, it can be frustrating to realize that your body isn't as flexible and mobile as you'd like it to be. At first, it doesn't necessarily feel "good". It's not "comfortable" to stretch and challenge muscles that haven't been stretched in a while. I heard my muscles saying, "Hey, what do you think you're doing??" But after I was finished my body felt better, more relaxed, looser, more at ease. β If you haven't done yoga in a while or ever, it's never too late to start. There are so many benefits to a regular yoga practice - physical and mental! I focus on teaching yoga to women over 40 who want a slower, gentle practice but yoga that still challenges the body so we can remain strong and flexible. β Want to try yoga or come back to it after a long break?
